Sending Ads for Production
Once you have purchased AD space in FE you will need to send us your artwork. After having your ads produced according to our Production Specs, there are two methods of which we can receive your ads.

FTP
Upload your files to HOST: mediapeach.com and please contact us regarding FTP login and password.

To connect to The
FE site you must use a FTP client program such as Fetch® for the Mac or WS_FTP® for Windows. (A Web browser such as Netscape® or Internet Explorer® is not suitable.)

Before uploading your ad, please compress all the necessary files into a single archive using file compression software such as StuffIt™ or WinZip®. (This is crucial to maintaining the integrity of your files.)

The filename of your archive should not contain any slashes (/ or \), spaces, commas, question marks (?) or ampersands (&). Underscores (_) and hyphens (-) are alright. Please limit your filenames to 28 characters. Please do not create self-extracting archives (.sea or .exe). These types of files can carry computer viruses and are unusable if not transferred properly. Also, .exe files cannot be read by our Macintosh-based production systems. Files can be transferred in a variety of compression types and protocols. Both PC and Macintosh users should transfer their files as “raw data,” “binary,” or “8-bit”.

Why we do not recommend E-Mail Submissions
Email can be a very unreliable form of transmission because it relies on many servers to route the information across the Internet. If one of those servers goes down, your email can get stuck and not arrive for hours, even days! There are also cross platform compatibility issues that may corrupt your file en route. FTP, on the other hand, involves a direct connection between only two computers – yours, and our FTP server. And it allows you to see your file after it has been sent, unlike email. Please contact us if you require to send your AD by email.

Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Your ad is completely finished and ready for output.
  • Full colour photos, scans and other artwork have been converted to the CMYK colour model.*
  • Custom or PANTONE® colours have been converted to CMYK.*
  • All scanned images have a resolution of 250 to 350 pixels/inch at 100 per cent of the size they appear in the ad.
  • For B&W ads: A photocopy or B&W laser proof is attached to your disk or has been faxed to FE.
  • For colour ads: A full-colour composite proof must be submitted to FE.
  • If you are uploading your ad to the FTP site, all the files associated with your ad – including the document file, font files and image files – have been collected together and compressed into a single archive using StuffIt™ or WinZip® or other compression software. This step is crucial to maintaining the integrity of the files.
